Welcome to SLai, a platform by Freethink Software Developers. By accessing or using our services, you agree to these Terms & Conditions ("Terms") and our Data Protection Policy. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, specifically including the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), 2013.
If you do not agree to these Terms, please discontinue use of our services.
2. Data Collection & Consent
- SLai processes only Opt-In Contact Data provided by users.
- All contact information uploaded to SLai must have been lawfully collected with explicit consent from the data subject, as required by POPIA.
- Users of SLai act as Responsible Parties (data controllers) for their data. SLai acts as an Operator (data processor) on their behalf.
3. Use of Services
SLai may only be used for lawful purposes.
You may not use SLai to:
- Send unsolicited or unlawful electronic communications ("spam").
- Collect or process data without proper consent.
- Violate POPIA, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA), or other applicable laws.
SLai reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts in breach of these Terms.
4. Data Protection & Security
- Data is protected using encryption (in transit and at rest), firewalls, and access controls.
- Access to personal data is limited to authorized personnel, who are bound by confidentiality obligations.
- SLai does not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties without explicit consent, except where required by law.
- Security safeguards are continuously updated to align with industry standards and POPIA requirements.
5. Data Retention
- Personal data is retained only for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected.
- SLai will retain user and contact data for up to 12 months of inactivity, unless longer retention is required by law.
- Users may request deletion of their data at any time (see Section 8).

As a data subject, you have the right to:
- Be informed about the collection and use of your data.
- Request access to your personal data.
- Correct or update inaccurate information.
- Request the deletion of your data ("the right to be forgotten").

Requests will be processed within 30 business days.
7. Limitation of Liability
SLai is provided on an "as-is" basis, without any warranties.
SLai and Freethink Software Developers are not liable for:
- Losses arising from misuse of the platform.
- Unlawful use of contact data by users.
- Interruption of service due to external factors beyond our control.
Users remain fully responsible for compliance with POPIA and other applicable regulations.
